Diet culture, you've met your scientific match.
Your Diet Sucks is where nutrition science meets real talk. Hosted by elite ultrarunner Zoë Rom and registered dietitian Kylee Van Horn, this podcast dismantles the myths, diet trends, and pseudoscience that cloud how we think about food, health, and performance.
Each week, we cut through the noise with evidence-based conversations on sports nutrition, endurance training, fueling strategies, and diet culture, all with a dose of humor and honesty. Whether you’re a runner, athlete, or just someone who loves food, Your Diet Sucks will help you understand what actually works (and why carbs are your best friend).
The Hosts
Zoë Rom
Zoë Rom is here to prove that science, snacks, and sarcasm belong in the same sentence. She’s an award-winning journalist, podcaster, and author who’s spent the past five years covering running, nutrition, and the outdoors. Her work has appeared in The New York Times, Outside, NPR, Trail Runner, and High Country News. She created and hosted DNF, once dubbed “the This American Life of running podcasts”, and her podcast reporting and production have been featured everywhere from NPR to UltraSignup. She also launched and produced the first season of The Outside Show.
When she’s not behind the mic, Zoë is on stage as a stand-up comic (Rise Comedy Festival) or performing improv with Consensual Improv. Zoë is an elite ultrarunner with podium finishes at the Leadville 100, Run Rabbit Run 100, and Rio Del Lago 100.
Her mix of journalism chops, performance skills, and ultra-endurance grit make her the perfect co-pilot of Your Diet Sucks, a show that’s as deeply researched as it is fun, skeptical, and occasionally spicy.
